My Grams Simply Rocks!

My Grammie Rocks:

I spent Sunday with my Great Grandmother, who is 101 years old. She is quite the entertainment and inspiration for life. She was born in 1909 and remember when she was 5 years old!

Grammie has watched the world go from horse, to horse powered cars, 2 World Wars, Great Depression, Man on the Moon, Washing Machines, Computers, Internet, Airplanes etc. etc. etc..... the women is a rock star.

The best part, she's over a century old and still desires a little creative fun. After playing a beat she turned to me and said, "Hunny, that's my repertoire. (Then hitting the symbol)."

Love you Grammie!
Thank you so much for everything you have taught me and all of the encouragement over the years.

Art should primarily be
for our enjoyment,
not interpretation.

Jonathan Jones said in the article "The Joy of Cubism",

…if you can relax your gaze enough and just enjoy the painting long enough, something really amazing happens: a chemistry in your process of perception produces a solid feeling of the things Picasso was looking at, that he was touching with his brain ‒ the fruit, the bottle, the newspaper, the cafe table. A place and a time swim darkly into view; the world is revealed in its majesty. And this is fun."

Albert Einstein said, "As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality." Nothing is perfect, no one is image of perfection, but our art work is embedded in the imperfections of our lives. "To demand perfection is to deny your ordinary (and universal) humanity, as though you would be better off without it." Our minds dream, our lives reveal... giving meaning to both.

"The Forgotten: Feed the Hungry Outreach"

"The Forgotten: Feed the Hungry Outreach"
A few students got together and started off 2010 with serving their community. We were able to serve food, give hair cuts, provide showers, give a devotional and lead the group in worship. I think the best part is when everyone was able to sit down and talk to the people they were serving. It was a lot of fun serving with friends and starting off the new year on a positive note. Plus, everyone loved it and we cannot wait to go back and serve in May.

Committing to this Photo Blog!

Last year I attempted to get this blog thing going, but this year I think I am ready to commit to it. At least have more than four posts. So here's to a year of photographs. My camera will be in hand most of the days this year. So...here's to hoping.
